Newton Aycliffe business receives Export Business of the Year Award

Primex Plastics Ltd, who employ a team of 60 out of their Aycliffe Industrial Park site, have just received the Export Business of the Year Award from the North East Chamber of Commerce, in their 25th year of business.

Out of all the applicants, Lloyds Bank felt Primex had best demonstrated the requirements for the award, and that Primex are able to stand out among the crowd on the international stage. The North East is a particularly strong exporting area within the UK, so the achievement is even greater.
Primex will now go onto represent the North East in the National Chamber Awards, and hope to do the area proud.

It seems apt to win the award in their 25th year of operating, as a testament to the hard work which the whole team has put in.

The world has changed dramatically over those 25 years; and despite the recent challenges to international trade such as Brexit, the pandemic and the Ukraine War, over the past few years, Primex has substantially grown its business in the UK and EU markets.

However, Lloyds were impressed not just by the increased sales made in these areas, but also how Primex operate internally, the strong relationships which have been built with customers and the service Primex is able to provide internationally.

Primex continues to look to expand their business and have aggressive growth plans over the next few years. 2022 was a record year, across all KPIs, with 2023 improving upon these results.

The team further celebrated their 25th year of business by hosting a staff appreciation day, to watch their sponsored racing driver, Scorton born, Max Coates, drive in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB at Croft Circuit, near Darlington. All members of the team were invited for food and fun, along with their families and friends; and were able to cheer Max on who had three podium finishes in the weekend.
