Bishop Auckland College would be delighted to receive applications for the role of Chair.
As the final term of the College’s current Chair is due to conclude in July 2021, they are now commencing the search for the new Chair of Bishop Auckland College’s Corporate Board. They are especially seeking a business or community leader within the local area who shares the College’s passion for building long-term prosperity within Bishop Auckland and South Durham. Bishop Auckland College’s new Chair will contribute their skills and experience to help Bishop Auckland College, and their subsidiary company South West Durham Traning, to achieve their vision of providing exceptional learning opportunities and facilitating local economic regeneration.
This is a voluntary role, unpaid but highly-rewarding. The role provides opportunities to broaden your portfolio of experience and engage in regular opportunities for professional development. This is a particularly exciting time to be involved with the Bishop Auckland College Group as they have an ambitious and vibrant agenda to deliver, including:
- Further improvements to their quality of education, to provide students with a springboard to future success in their chosen next steps.
- Delivering growth in key sections that are of strategic importance, including higher education and 14-16 alternative provision.
- Further understanding the needs of employers and helping local businesses to grow and build economic prosperity, recognising the unprecedented challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic
- Playing a leadership role in shaping local economic development initiatives, through productive strategic relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
If you are interested in joining them on this journey and would like to play a major role in driving Bishop Auckland College towards success, they would love to hear from you. The deadline for applications is Friday 26th February 2021.
